Community Music Making!
A day of new and traditional music making to help you bring forth a renewed sense of community in any group. Churches and other groups are re-learning how to make music together where the singing begins with a leader modeling and teaching the song to effectively draw in persons regardless of musical ability. We have found that something transformative happens in the relation among leaders and singers and in a groups embrace of spontaneity and creativity within the group. Lester and Ana will teach and lead us in singing new music, old music and traditional songs from South Africa.
This one day Music that Makes Community workshop is sure to bring new ideas and rhythms into the life of your community. It's designed specifically for organists, choir directors, clergy, and lay leaders who want to learn how to lead cultural and rhythmically diverse music effectively.

In our flesh... seeing God in a digital age
Ana and Donald Schell are the keynote speakers. Donald is a co-founder of St. Gregory of Nyssa Church in San Francisco and a church consultant.
How do we encounter God when we gather for common prayer? What do we do together that helps us see God? What matters about how we gather, sing, and eat together at Jesus' table? In our information age, can ancient Christian practice and traditions take us to a different and more humanizing kind of knowing? How does our future, need and invite this wisdom from the past in ways we've never experienced before.

All the Tunes You Can Eat
Join us for a Friday night alternative service and a Saturday workshop. The workshop explores new ways to look at and use old tunes to enable them to speak to us now, and also serves as a survey of the newest music being published for use in the Episcopal Church. We’ll explore Music By Heart: Paperless Music for Evening Worship; Voices Found; Wonder, Love and Praise; Lift Every Voice and Sing, and The Hymnal 1982. This is an especially rewarding day-long workshop for congregations that are not living up to their potential in the “Make a joyful noise” department. The content of the workshop changes based on what’s new and beautiful, and on the needs of the group.
